UNAMA expressed concern over civilian casualties in Pakistan’s invasion of Afghanistan

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has issued a statement expressing concern over civilian casualties as a result of recent airstrikes by Pakistani forces in areas of Khost and Kunar.

UNAMA is concerned about reports of civilian casualties, including women and children, in Pakistani airstrikes in Khost and Kunar provinces, the statement said.

UNAMA stressed that civilians are never the target, adding that it is working to establish the facts on the ground and confirm the casualties.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations has condemned Pakistan in airstrikes that have killed 40 civilians, including women and children.

Afghanistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations has called on Pakistan to immediately stop the attacks and respect Afghanistan’s territorial integrity.

One day ago, Pakistani troops bombed four villages in the Spiri district of Khost province and residential areas in the Sheltan district of Kunar province, killing and wounding scores of civilians, including women and children.
