Three-Day “Sultan Mahmood Ghaznavi” National Exhibition Opens in Ghazni

The second “Sultan Mahmood Ghaznavi National Exhibition,” organized by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, has opened in Ghazni and will run for three days.

The exhibition features 60 booths showcasing industrial and agricultural products from Ghazni, as well as Kabul, Kandahar, Herat, and several neighboring provinces.

Sardar Mohammad Madani, Deputy Governor of Ghazni, said: “This exhibition has many benefits and objectives. Products manufactured inside the country will benefit both producers and the public, while helping introduce Afghanistan’s domestic products to markets at home and abroad.”

Ahmad Mujtaba Ahadi, the exhibition organizer, said: “The exhibition opened on Wednesday and has attracted industrialists from Ghazni, Kabul, Herat, Nangarhar, and several neighboring provinces. Various industrial products are being displayed across 60 booths.”

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce said the Islamic Emirate has given special attention to the country’s industrial and commercial sectors and has allocated 160,000 jeribs of land for the construction of factories to facilitate investment and industrial development.

Shahabuddin Saqib, the ministry’s Deputy Minister for Finance and Administration, said: “Our trade has reached two billion, and the most important achievement is that the Islamic Emirate has given special attention to industry and commerce. Across the country, 160,000 jeribs of land have been allocated for the construction of factories.”

Meanwhile, participants and industrialists attending the exhibition called for greater investment incentives, the resolution of challenges facing industrialists and traders, and increased use of domestically produced goods.

Abdul Mateen Qalandari, Deputy Head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Mines and Industries, said: “We ask the government to support us according to its capacity. We are not asking for a 20-year tax exemption; we want our problems to be addressed and for the government to support us. Give us time, encourage us, provide facilities, and create opportunities for us to participate in exhibitions.”

Mirwais, an industrialist from Ghazni, said: “Holding exhibitions serves as a form of marketing for us and is highly beneficial for expanding our production. We thank those who organized this exhibition and gave us the opportunity to participate.”

According to officials from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Afghanistan is currently self-sufficient in the production of 230 types of industrial products, and efforts are continuing to further strengthen domestic production.
