Ramez Al-Kbarov: 700,000 jobs have been destroyed in Afghanistan after the rule of the Taliban

The United Nations says that during the rule of the Taliban, the economic situation in Afghanistan has deteriorated and caused the destruction of 700,000 jobs.

In a press conference, Ramez Al-Kabroff, the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in Afghanistan, said that the country’s gross domestic product has decreased by 30 to 35 percent in less than two years.

According to him the lack of jobs in Afghanistan has made about 65% of the people of this country need humanitarian aid and millions of people are on the verge of famine.

Earlier, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid (OCHA) also said in a report that the poverty rate in Afghanistan has increased by 50% in the last three years.

This organization called the decrease in income, unemployment and increase in rates among the factors of increasing poverty in Afghanistan and added that the rate of poverty in this country has increased from 47% to 97%.
