Expanding Afghanistan-Iran Railway and Trade Cooperation

The Deputy Director of Commerce of Iran Railways announced a significant increase in rail transport on the Herat-Khawaf route.

According to Morteza Jafari, the amount of cargo movement on this route will increase from 10,000 tons per month to 100,000 tons.

He announced on Sunday that the annual capacity of this railway line is estimated at about 6 million tons of cargo and one million passengers.

Jafari also emphasized that completing the Chabahar railway project is a priority in development plans.
