India: Chabahar Port Important for Expanding Trade with Afghanistan and Central Asia

Indian officials have announced that New Delhi strongly supports Chabahar Port in the face of US pressure.

India Today quoted Indian officials as saying that Chabahar Port is an alternative and important route for expanding trade relations with Afghanistan and Central Asia.

India has supported Chabahar Port even though the US has recently said that it will review or revoke the sanctions exemption for this port.

It should be noted that Iran’s Chabahar Port is exempt from US sanctions, and this exemption has allowed India to develop the strategic Chabahar Port in Iran.
