The United States continues to evacuate Americans and Afghans

The US State Department says Washington’s commitment to evacuate US citizens, US permanent residents, and those Afghan citizens whose lives are in danger is continuing.
State Department spokesman Ned Price told reporters yesterday that Washington has a continuing commitment to evacuating US citizens and permanent residents.
“After our military mission ended in August, we made it very clear that our commitment will remain not only for the relocation of the American citizen, but also for US permanent residents and Afghans whose lives are in danger,” he said.
Mr Price emphasized that a senior US diplomat had assisted 479 US citizens and 450 permanent residents to leave Afghanistan since 31 August. “They are Afghans and another 150 American citizens are not ready to leave Afghanistan for any reason.”
In addition to evacuating US citizens and green card holders, he said, the United States has more or less made it easier for another 2,000 people to leave Afghanistan after August 31, stressing that “our efforts to do so have no expiration date.” “
However, many Afghans who have collaborated with foreign forces in Afghanistan and whose lives are now in danger are still in the country.
